“Why on earth do we need an astir when the Marquis arrives?” Tao Hong’s face was full of confusion. Ah Lu also responded to the occasion and squawked, “The Marquis is here.”

Liu Lu waved her hand weakly looking at the stupid girl and one stupid bird, “Forget it. I can’t speak to you clearly.”

In the room, Yu Pin Yan sat on the edge of the bed. He simultaneously lifted the overall and asked, “Is it better today? Still itchy?”

“Much better than yesterday.” Yu Xiang played with a little golden pig in her hand.

Yu Pin Yan nodded his head. He daubed a little of the salve and smeared evenly on the affected area that was still somewhat inflamed. His fingertips were reluctant to leave after he finished smearing the medication and slid towards the slightly sunken tailbone. Looking at the small waist and the perfectly round buttocks, his eyes turned darker.

He however heard a peal of giggling from Yu Xiang, the feline-like eyes were brimmed with traces of water vapor as she glanced over accusingly, “Elder Brother, it’s ticklish!”

Yu Pin Yan finally snapped out of his reverie. He realized his fingertips had long left the affected area where they lingered and circled gently on the dimpled area of her sunken back. The sliding bloomers could not cover the looming butt crack which ignited fiery flames in his eyes. He retracted his hand as if it had been scalded, yet the satiny sensation that remained on his fingertips still lingered.

He didn’t dare to think much or even look at it. Putting down the salve, he found an opaque brocade robe from the chests and laid it on his younger sister’s body. It seemed he had fought the hardest battle doing all these that a layer of sweats appeared on his forehead while his breathing turned laborious.

Yet Yu Xiang was heedless as it had never occurred to her the distinction between men and women or what’s mine and yours when she interacted with her elder brother. Smilingly, she pointed at the sweat on his forehead, “The room’s fire tunnel is burning and the sun is shining brightly outside. Elder Brother, look at how warm you are. Just take off the robe.”

It was not Yu Pin Yan’s body that was warm, it was the intense flame in his heart. He could only smile bitterly listening to these words, yet he still removed his robe and boots. He found a book of historian records then crossed his legs on the divan as he sat beside his younger sister and slowly browsed through it. A calm heart will keep one cool. Perhaps it would be better after reading a book. He would rather stay and endured the concurrent pain in happiness than to leave.

Yu Xiang had long gotten used to the calmness of having her elder brother kept watch and read by her side that she continued counting her little golden pigs. She then glanced at him with each count seemingly a little hesitant to talk.

Being watched by such a pair of bright feline-like eyes, an unspeakable numbness trickled into Yu Pin Yan’s heart like the brushing of a goose feather. He patiently endured for a moment before speaking out calmly, “If you have words to say, just say it. Why did you keep looking at me?” He turned his head and saw his younger sister propped her upper body up. The neckline of the dudou dangled down, revealing a seductively deep cleavage that one could imagine its softness with just a glance.

He immediately retracted his gaze and stared at the page, but his brain was unable to discern those words and he had to take some deep breaths inwardly.

Yu Xiang was completely unaware as she stammered before opening her mouth, “Elder Brother, I want to buy a house in the countryside.”

“If you want to buy one, then buy it in the Capital. There aren’t any good houses in the countryside, mostly just country estates or blue tile-roofed houses.” Yu Pin Yan turned a page while his voice was rather hoarse.

“It’s better to buy it in the countryside. Someday if my sister-in-law dislikes me, I can stay a little further. Yu Si Yu said I am a disabled. Presently you are protecting me, but once you have a wife and children in the future, I am afraid you will resent me as an encumbrance.” The more she talked, the sadder she felt that tears also trickled down which she quickly wiped it off with her hand.

Yu Pin Yan did not look at her but stared at the page of the book as he coldly stated, “Don’t listen to her nonsense.” It seemed Yu Si Yu ought to be married off as soon as possible.

Yu Xiang bit her lips and still looked troubled.

Feeling helpless, Yu Pin Yan glanced at her quickly and comforted, “Fine. Buy a house in the countryside. If she dislikes you, let her move out herself.”

Yu Xiang nodded her head and placed the scattered little golden pigs into the small box. She couldn’t feel any joy thinking of her elder brother united in wedlock with another woman and no more room for her involvement.

After a moment of hesitation, she finally couldn’t contain herself and said hesitatingly, “Elder Brother, can you not get married? I don’t like sister-in-law. No matter whoever it will be, I will not like her! I wish you were mine alone.”

There was a violent tremble in Yu Pin Yan’s heart, an inexplicable and indescribable joy flowed out from countless cracks in his hardened heart. The corners of his lips quietly raised yet his eyes stared fixedly on the book when he replied with seemingly absent-mindedness, “Okay. Elder Brother will not get married and only stick to Xiang’er for life.”

Even though she knew it was impossible for him not getting married, she was very much content listening to those words. She muffled her giggles, like a joyous little mouse that had stolen the lard.

Yu Pin Yan shot her a quick glance when the smile at the corners of his lips deepened.

Once Yu Xiang’s worries were gone, she had the desire to chat. She brought up all that had happened last night. The speed of her speech was slow but her expression was vivid that even her gestures were extremely fascinating. One of Yu Pin Yan’s favorite past times was listening to his younger sister narrating the occurrence of the day.

Though they were all trivialities, it brought him unceasing laughter and delights. Walking into the Dragon Scaled bureau, he was a heartless and ruthless killing machine. He only felt alive with flesh and blood when he returned home listening to his younger sister’s ramblings.

He threw the book away and laid on his side next to his younger sister then casually pretended wrapping her tightly in the brocade robe before placing his arm under her neck while semi hugging her into his arms. His large palm clasped her little hand where their ten fingers interlocked as he listened to her vivid descriptions. There was no coldness and ruthlessness on his countenance, only overflowing tenderness.

Traces of hostility erupted in his eyes when he listened to the part of Fang Zhi Chen’s confession, “He truly dared to be wistful!”

Yu Xiang bore into his embrace and uttered aggrievedly, “He did dared to be wistful. He doesn’t take me seriously, seeing that I am crippled. Not only him but wouldn’t those who want to marry me in the future not care for the power and influence of my Elder Brother? Their words would be canny and pleasant during the marriage proposal, but will they still treat me like a human-being once I marry into the family. Furthermore, there will be possibilities of the concubines or maidservants climbing over my head and roughshod me. Elder Brother, there is no other person in this world who treats me wholeheartedly like you. So, can I not get married? It’s enough that I stick to you for life too.”

The hostility in Yu Pin Yan’s eyes was gone. He hugged her with a low laugh that the vibrating chest brought out a burst of robust joyfulness.

Is that a yes? Yu Xiang laughed too and bumped the tip of her nose with his, inhaling the sandalwood smell that made her feel extremely at ease.

Seeing the two siblings entangled intimately together through the gap of the window, the strange feeling Liu Lu had became more distinct. While she was hesitating whether she should find an excuse to go in, she saw the Marquis’ personal guard run in hastily.

“Looking for the Marquis for some matters?” She hurriedly met him.

“Miss Liu Lu please go in and report that there is already information on the person whom the Marquis asked to investigate. Two Dragon Scaled guards are now waiting for him in the study.” The imperial guard clasped his hands.

Yu Pin Yan heard their conversations thus he gently placed his younger sister on the soft divan and pulled a light quilt to cover her up before putting on his robe and boots then walked out.

After one whole day and night, what Shen Miao Qi had gone through would have been investigated thoroughly with the universal ability of the Dragon Scaled guards.
