The Slag Gong Wants to Kill Me - Epilogue (6)
Ji Qu turned around and saw a familiar face. “Shen Yizhou?” He muttered.
Shen Yizhou smiled and nodded.
There Ji Qu noticed that he was accompanied by a man. The man had upright features, and a frivolous appearance but had a special type of calm temperament. Shen Yizhou noticed his gaze and introduced him: “This is Lu Hai. My ex-husband’s brother.”
Ji Qu expressed an “Oh”. He looked at the man’s hand supporting what it appeared to be a deranged old woman. He couldn’t help but slander in his heart with great malice this man called Lu Hai, or any person surnamed Lu for that matter. In Ji Qu’s eyes they were all evil.
“It’s quite windy outside. Was it hard to take your mother-in-law out for a walk?” Ji Qu asked, sounding them out.
Lu Hai glanced at him, seemingly puzzled by the question asked by this stranger he had just met. Then, he appeared to have thought of something. Turning to glance at Shen Yizhou, he sighed as if he finally understood and grunted, “En.”
“It wasn’t hard.” Shen Yizhou replied.
This was a disguised affirmation. Just a moment ago, they went out for a walk. However, Ji Qu remembered that when he came, he had attentively observed that there was no one in the lawn outside the building.
Shen Yizhou assisted Lu Hai in supporting his mother towards the bed. As they passed by Luo Yu’s bed, his shrieks grew louder and he struggled desperately to escape not minding the shackles binding him.
Shen Yizhou turned his head, shooting him a glance. For a split second, Ji Qu saw his face morph into a cold and expressionless one. After he was glared at, Luo Yu shut his mouth as if he had been strangled by the throat. He then cowered under the sheets, shivering.
Their relationship wasn’t simple. Ji Qu thought. He sensed Luo Yu’s fear of Shen Yizhou based on how he reacted. His intuition told him that the case wasn’t as simple as the internet made it out to be. In that case….
As he was contemplating, Shen Yizhou, softly called out his name, “When you go back, remember to check the forum.”
Ji Qu nodded with an “Ah.”
….
As he left the ward, Ji Qu bumped against a man in a protective suit. He was running in haste. He didn’t even apologize after bumping into Ji Qu and just ran away in a hurry. Ji Qu bent down to pick up the staff ID he dropped.
Ji Qu carefully remembered the picture he had just glimpsed. That man was covered from head to toe in a white protective suit and even most of his face was covered by a mask. It made people not able to see clearly his physical features, making him appear suspicious.
He looked at the staff ID, discovering that the man was called Zhuang Yu, a staff that was employed three years ago.
