Shen-Ping couldn’t stop his body from shaking. His heart was beating so fast that he felt suffocated. He couldn’t breathe. He felt so dizzy that he collapsed on the ground. He curled into a ball. Shen-Ping covered his ears with his hands, buried his head between his knees, and began to miserably cry. He didn’t know what happened, but everything suddenly went black.

He passed out.

Shen-Ping could not forget what happened in the last moments of his life. The emotions he felt were so strong, tears still flowing down his face even in an unconscious state. All he could feel was unfathomable grief and profound hate. The betrayal he experienced made him feel and think of so many ugly things.

Shen-ping forced himself to open his eyes. He was too exhausted, all he wanted to do was lay there, and never get up. He compelled himself to get up, but as he did he stumbled but caught himself. He steadied himself, wiping the bile from his face. The smell of it caused him to feel nauseous again. He had vomited on himself and now he needed a new bath. He pushed himself to slowly and painfully went through the process of taking a bath, before pulling on loose pajamas and climbing into his bed.

He was so exhausted that he fell as sleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. It was a dreamless sleep and he woke up just as the sun was about to set. He stretched out his body and to the study. After he finished reading the rest of the book, he then went back to the book with that one name. He forced down the bile that rose in his throat and read through the information. His already twisted emotions became more twisted but one feeling is unmistakable, it was anger.

In both lifetimes, he had been used and tossed around by one person, Zeng Zi-Xin. In his last life, he had suffered many setbacks and disappointments because of the status he was born with. He’d just hit rock-bottom when he was saved by Zeng Zi-Xin. Zeng Zi-Xin made him feel loved and adored. Something that he never knew and never thought he would ever experience.

It was only a matter of time before, he gave in and fell in love. So, He did. The night that he confessed to Zeng Zi-Xin, they made love to each other. A month later, he found out that he was pregnant. Zi-Xin said that he would seek his parents’ permission to marry him. At that time he had trusted Zi-Xin completely. He did not expect to die that very day when he was invited by Zi-Xin to come to his parent’s house.

“It wasn’t enough for you… you had to follow me here?!” Shen-Ping screamed, as he slammed his hands onto the desk.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, his hands curling into fists as he tried to calm himself down. In this life, after his family died, Shen-Ping spent many years alone, until the day he met Zeng Zi-Xin. Zeng Zi-Xin brought him a sense of warmth and safety, that he never thought he would experience. They would secretly go out together, play, laugh, and enjoy themselves without reserve.

It was only the other day when they had run off to play together, Zi-Xin pushed him down on the grass, kissed him tenderly. The original Shen-Ping fell in love with Zi-Xin. So, he allowed Zi-Xin to take advantage of him, but they stopped before they went too far. Afterward, Zeng Zi-Xin promised to marry him and love him for the rest of their lives.

The original Shen-Ping was happy and couldn’t wait for that day. However, as far as the current Shen-Ping was concerned, he was once again being taken advantage of. He knows that as soon as that scumbag got what he wanted; Zi-Xin will toss him away again. To further prove his point, Zi-Xin is the son of a current renter. Zi-Xin’s father always had a hard time paying off what he owed Shen-Ping. Fortunately, since he and Zeng Zi-Xin began playing together, Zeng Zi-Xin would always convince him to let go of the current month’s rent and promise to pay it back the next.

In the end, they hadn’t paid their rent for more than half a year. Shen-Ping took down the information and decided to pay a visit to the village head tomorrow. He would ask the village head to deliver a message. If the Zeng’s couldn’t pay up the rent they owed for the last few months, then they would be evicted. Moreover, if they don’t move out by the end of the week, he would see them in court.

After formulating his plan, he felt much better. He slumped in his chair and let out a yawn only for his stomach to grumble. He blushed remembering that he was so busy exploring this morning that he didn’t eat breakfast. Then, he started going through the accounts and got distracted. After that, he was so distressed seeing Zeng Zi-Xin’s name that he passed out and then went to sleep for a long time. So, it’s no wonder that his stomach is complaining now. He really hasn’t had any bite to eat since coming to this world.

He sighed and sorted out the books, placed them into the drawer, and locked it. Before leaving the study room, he cleaned the desk and put the things in their rightful places. He went to the kitchen in search of something to eat. He lit all the lamps that were in it, and he looked around. He looked around and found some kind of meat soaking in some sort of marinade. He also found the dried meat that was hanging by the wall.

He looked around and found that the large kitchen was very organized. Everything had its own place and every part of the kitchen was clean and tidy. The original was someone who likes keeping everything clean. He pulled out a few ingredients. He chose to make some Honey Stir-fried chicken, but he won’t cook the rice because it would take too long.

He picked out the vegetables he wanted to use. He used the water from the container in the kitchen to wash them and then chopped them up. He then took the chicken that was soaking in the marinade, chopped it into large chunks, and set it aside. He gathered the spices and seasonings and then went over to the stove.

He washed a wok and set it on the fire. He added oil, put the chicken, and added spices and seasoning. When it was fried enough, he poured in some honey and let it cook for a little while before adding in the vegetables. In the meantime, while it was cooking, he tidied the kitchen. He washed all the plates, dried them, before putting everything back in their original place.

When the food was cooked, he put it on a plate. He carried it with him until he sat down at the table in the kitchen. He took his time enjoying his food. When he was finished, he put the remaining food in a bowl with a cover and set it aside for breakfast. He made sure everything was clean and organized in the kitchen before he blew out the lamp. He did leave one with him so he can see around the house while on his way to his bedroom.

That night, he had another dreamless sleep. He was so exhausted that by the time he woke up, it was noon the next day. He yawned and went over to his trunk, and pulled out a clean set of clothes. Unfortunately, the original Shen-Ping likes white because all his robes were white with some simple designs on them. He again prepared his water in the tub, he soaked in it, but since he had washed his hai later in the day, he didn’t do it again.

He got dressed, pulled his hair up, braided it, and then wrapped it into a bun. He then hooked it with a jade pin. When he was satisfied, he put on a white veil. He sat on the bed as he pulled on his socks and tied them in place. He went to the study and picked up the documents he wanted, and then locked up the house. As he went out the door, he stepped in a set of white embroidered shoes.

Shen-Ping looked up at the sky while walking at a leisurely pace. He thought it was such a good day. He was determined that today he would settle that scumbag’s affair. If the Zengs can pay him what they owe, he’ll treat them as regular tenants, keeping them at arm’s length, making their relationship being strictly business only. However, if they can’t pay, which is the most likely outcome, he would act as if he never knew them, cutting off all his ties. He couldn’t wait to see the look on that Zi-Xin’s face when he was done with him.
