The Orphan Ger Who Purchased A Husband - 1
‘Clack’ the cup sounded as it hits the table.
“Drink it.”
The young man stared at the cup as his hands trembled. He looked up meeting the older man’s eyes, and he couldn’t help but ask why, as tears ran down his face.
The older man watched him, pain and regret showed on his face, gently said, “I don’t have a choice. If I want to get ahead, I must do this. But don’t worry, once I get what I want. I’ll come back and we can have as many children as you want.”
The young man couldn’t help but let out a sob. He asked, “Do you swear that you won’t abandon me?”
The man nodded and leaned down kissing his lips.
“I swear.”
The young man nodded, decided to trust his boyfriend, and picked up the cup. He gulped the liquid down.
He reached to touch his stomach, gently whispering, “Mama’s sorry. I hope you’ll be born into a better life.”
“As do I.”
The young man looked up at the other man, wanting to smile, but felt something warm rush up his throat and out his mouth. He coughed out blood.
“I hope we’re born together in our next life, so I can love you freely. Unfortunately, it just can’t be in this life. Please go ahead of me, my love.”
The young man looked at the other man, his eyes full of shock and fear. However, he couldn’t say a word as he was choked by his own blood. He could feel sticky liquid flowing out of him and soaking the chair he was in. As he was choking, tears flowed before his eyes rolled up in his head and he collapsed from the chair.

The young man sat upon his bed, his heart racing. He held on to his heart and began to sob. He curled up and ran his hand on his stomach.
“I’m so sorry, I’m so fucking sorry, I was so stupid, I trusted him and all I got in return was death, I cost both of us our lives, I’m so… so sorry… please forgive me!”
The boy continued to sob. Eventually, he passed out on the bed.
The next time he opened his eyes, the sun was shining down on his face. He squinted and looked around drowsily. As he looks around the room in bewilderment, his eye couldn’t help but widen. He touched his throat and then reached down to touch his stomach. He felt his six-packs. He closed his eyes and sighed.
Pain.
He suddenly hissed and held his head. Gritting his teeth, as he braced himself for more pain, but it left just as fast it came, leaving him in a state of confusion.
“Ou-Yang Shen-Ping…,” he mumbled as he opened his eyes.
He got up and grabbed the outer robe from the back of a chair. As he put it on, walked through the house, and stepped outside. He looked up at the clear sky, then around the large yard. His bare feet stepped onto the hot cobblestoned path and the hot stones. It burned his feet. He looked down at his feet and a tear trickled from his eyes.
A sob soon followed, and he hunched down, as more tears ran from his eyes. He covered his face but couldn’t control the sob that’s bursting out of him. His body began to shake, and he continued to cry loudly. He dropped to his knees resting his head on the ground. He tried to stop but he couldn’t, maybe because he just didn’t want to stop.
He didn’t know how long he knelt there crying, but by the time he got up, he felt both oddly tired and refreshed at the same time.
“Ou-Yang Shen-Ping,” he said with renewed determination, “from this day onward, my name is Ou-Yang Shen-Ping. In this life, I’ll live only for me.”
He chuckled to himself. Before declaring, “I don’t need his crooked love or twisted care to survive. I can do it all on my own. I will survive!”
He took a deep breath and pumped his fist into the sky.
When Shen-Ping finally calmed down, he laughed sheepishly and went back into the house. He inspected himself and decided that he needs to change out of his dirty clothes. He went to a trunk at the corner of the bedroom and took out a clean set of clothes. Carrying the clean set of garments, he went to the kitchen. Upon searching the body’s memories, he was able to figure out where the well was. He fetched some water to boil for his bath. He set his clothes down on the side. Then, he poured the hot water into a large tub. He set aside a bucket of regular water for when he rinses.
Shen-Ping stripped his clothes, untied his hair, and got into the tub. Sinking into the water, he let out a contented sigh. While relaxing, Shen-Ping inspected the current body that he has in possession.
He could only describe it as being in shape. Shen-Ping appreciated that this body was fitter, taller, and stronger than he was in his last life. Before his family’s death, the real Ou-Yang Shen-Ping led a pampered life. He had become an orphan at a very young age and since he had no one else to depend on, he had to support himself. He had to learn to survive on his own. It was hard at first but soon he was able to live well by himself. Eventually, most people forgot that he is a ger.
He was very skilled in hunting and fishing. He was also a very capable farmer. He was also adept in embroidery, calligraphy, reading, and writing. In addition, he knew how to play many types of instruments. Ou-Yang Shen-Ping is very much beholden to his mother. The original Shen-Ping’s mother taught everything he knows. Due to his knowledge and skills, he was able to regain his family’s wealth. With this newfound wealth, he dutifully put his family to rest.
He was even able to buy back his family’s house. It was the house that he was born in. It was large with many rooms and sat in a spacious yard.
Shen-Ping rubbed his hands over his soft white skin. It was strange that even though he spent a lot of time under the sun, his skin hadn’t turned dark or rough.
His masculine looks and strength made it impossible for Shen-Ping to marry. No one likes a wife who is stronger and more capable than the husband. Especially, someone who is more manly than them. Shen-Ping snorted. He was perfectly happy not having to marry one of those male chauvinists. He’s very content with the idea of living his life, doing as he liked, and if he wanted children, he can just adopt a brat or two.
He reached for the soap, rubbed it over his skin, and then washed his hair. He stood up and poured a bucket of water over his head to rinse himself. He walked out of the tub, dried off his skin, left his hair flowing, and got dressed. He dumped the dirty water from the tub outside, in front of the house. He sat by the door and started patting his hair dry. The sun was so warm that he could not help but closed his eyes and relaxed for a while.
When his hair was finally dry, he ran his fingers through it, pulled it up into a high bun, and then hooked a jade pin in it. He went back inside to explore the house. Then, he decided to scrutinize every inch of the yard. When he was finished, he went into the study room and sat behind a desk. He unlocked the drawer, pulled out a set of books, and started looking through it.
The original owner was a landowner. Ever since his family died, when he was seven, he had been managing all the family assets. Just from the rent, Shen-Ping is already earning a lot of income. Why did he choose to hunt and farm even with all this money at his disposal? Well, that’s because Shen-Ping is both practical and wise. In Ou-Yang Shen-Ping’s mind, if he could not protect himself, then he will easily be taken advantage of. Any man could force him to marry, and then take everything away from him. Thus, his solution is to be more capable than anyone that people would think twice about exploiting him.
Shen-Ping sighed and continued to look through the books. He checked and made sure everything was in order. The renters would be here in three days to pay their rent. As he read through the books, he spotted a familiar name that made him frown. He searched the original’s memories for that person’s face. As soon as the image appeared in his head, Shen-Ping felt sick. He rushed to the window and threw up.
