Quick Transmigration: The Second Female Lead is Poisonous - Chapter 36
Three days passed. Fengguang experienced Xuean’s taunts and threats each and every single day. No matter how much worse her health had gotten, she still forced herself to eat the medicine to get better. At this rate, she was either going to die from illness or heart failure.
Xuean was very satisfied with her recovery. The sun had just risen and he intended to start travelling through the Guanghe Desert. Of course, he still needed to bring weak baggage along with him. Fengguang pursed her lips. If she was going to be considered baggage, he should just leave her and let her return home.
Qianqian Wan clasped his hands together. “Be extra cautious on your travels, Master.”
“This pouch contains food and emergency medications. Master, I wish you safe travels,” Luo Mei said as she offered the bag to her.
Xuean received it and tossed it over to Fengguang. “Both of you need to be careful as well.”
Fengguang instinctively took a step back as she hugged the bag that had been thrown over to her. She rolled her eyes and didn’t look back at Xuean. Instead, she was more curious about Qianqian Wan and Luo Mei. “Is it easy to disguise yourself and change faces nowadays?”
Qianqian Wan smugly caressed his moustache. As he caressed it, the moustache disappeared and he lowered his hand. “In the jianghu1, there aren’t many people who can disguise themselves but there isn’t a lack of them either. However, the number of people who are able to disguise themselves like Luo Mei and I can be counted with one hand.”
Luo Mei and Qianqian Wan were now disguised as Fengguang and Xuean. The disguise went beyond visual appearances, but even their body shapes were the same. Changing faces could be considered easily done but bone structure was definitely not an easy feat.
Fengguang stared at Qianqian Wan. “From what I remember you weren’t as tall before.”
“Miss, you probably don’t know,” Luo Mei started. “But we’ve been practicing the bone shifting arts since we were young so we can change our bodies at will.”
Fengguang’s eyes glittered in awe with all the stars in the galaxy. “That’s incredible! Do you think I have any potential? Could you teach me?”
Xuean coldly retorted, “Don’t even dream about it. With your lack of potential, growing taller is impossible. However…”
She stubbornly asked, “What?”
“The shrinking arts are more suitable for you.”
Luo Mei and Qianqian Wan’s eyes contained their laughter.
“You!” She glared at him. She was already short to begin with. With the shrinking arts, she would just become shorter!
Fengguang’s angry self was like an angry cat. The only thing missing were cat hairs standing on end in fury. But even though she was angry, she didn’t seem threatening at all.
Xuean pulled on the back of her collar. “Let’s go, it’s time to leave.”
“Hey, let go of me. I can walk on my own…”
Luo Mei watched as their silhouettes disappeared into the crowd and still, she remained unmoving.
“It seems as though Master was correct. You really like that girl.”
Luo Mei turned to Qianqian Wan and without any expression, she replied, “It’s time for us to leave as well.”
Qianqian Wan shrugged and followed Luo Mei out of the store. They headed off in the opposite direction. Two identical pairs were going off in different directions. The one hidden in the shadows was torn between which pair to follow.
Fengguang had arrived at a port with Xuean where the boatman was already waiting for them. Once they stepped onto the boat, she put down her bag and sat down next to Xuean.
As she sat there, she asked, “Will anything happen to Qianqian Wan and Luo Mei?”
“What, are you worried about them?” Xuean picked up a cup of tea but wasn’t in a rush to drink it and casually replied, “Unless you already forgot, they’re not on your side. Going off by reasoning, you should be hoping something happens to them.”
Fengguang calmly replied, “It’s not like they were the ones who captured me. Why would I hope for that? Anyways, even if they get caught by the Ghost King’s men, they’re your trusted underlings. Even after torture and trials, they wouldn’t betray you.”
Xuean froze before he gave a genuinely happy smile. “You’re not wrong about that.”
