Volume 2: Winter Holiday Mystery
Prologue

I had a terrible experience recently.
I spent the entire summer vacation with my younger sister playing a romance simulation otome game, and I quickly became frustrated by the ridiculousness of the setting and development of the game, which was like a daytime drama… or rather, like an old Korean drama.
Then, the morning after summer vacation ended, as I was saying the days of toil goodbye, and excitedly headed off to university, I was sent flying by a truck. While thinking, “Oh, I’m dead” I was reincarnated in the game I had to play with my sister all vacation until I was sick of it, “I Risk Everything for you.”
It’s the “otome game reincarnation” that’s so popular on the internet right now.
Oh, now you’re thinking, “You’re lucky to be able to continue your life without dying,” right?
But if you actually reincarnate in a game world, it’s absurd, you know?
The original settings of the game world are all outrageous, and the common sense of modern Japan doesn’t apply.
Moreover, in the case of “otome games,” the future of a person can easily change depending on the feelings and actions of the heroine, and that’s an extremely unstable thing, isn’t it?
Well, the fact that it’s still a game’s “scenario” makes it so I know a certain amount of the future and can avoid endings I don’t want. That helps a lot.
Still, in RPGs, the scenarios until the ending are fixed, but in a romance simulation, there are usually several different scenarios for each character.
Depending on the heroine’s choice of route and ending, the future of the characters will change greatly. The heroine could be happy with whoever she chooses to capture, as long as she doesn’t make the wrong choices, but in a world set in an aristocratic society, how could the son of a reasonably powerful nobleman not have a fiancée?
If the heroine’s chosen target has a fiancée, the heroine’s happiness is dependent on the fiancée’s misery. In some cases, the hassle is so great that their families have to get involved.
And in such a world, I was reincarnated as the prince of a religious country that’s said to be “founded by God”…moreover, as a capture target.
At this point, it’s already decided that my life is going to be messed up by the heroin, isn’t it?
To make it worse, I wasn’t reincarnated as a child, but the day before the start of the game, you know?
It’s commonly known as “reincarnation through possession.”
That one really gave me a hard time. Reincarnating the day before the game starts, with no time to prepare and not even a little bit of familiarity with the world. What was I supposed to do?
Maybe it’s because I was so confused about what was going on, but I couldn’t even remember the details of the game.
How hellish is the difficulty of this?!
Is what I thought.
And the stronger that thought became, the more I remembered the detailed pasts of the love interests of the game.
However, and I thought this since I played the game, the capture targets seem all to be idi…disappointing.
Moreover, among those guys, three of them are candidates to be in my future entourage. How troublesome.
I desperately tried to make them understand their position as high-ranking noblemen!
Thanks to my efforts, I managed to rehabilitate one of them, but the other two weren’t any good…
Well, even if I just succeeded in rehabilitating one of them, it’s a miracle!
That’s a good thing!
I mean, the other two were the type of people who shouldn’t be in the center of the country, regardless of the game or anything else, so I guess I’d say the result was okay.
But well, maybe it was because I was acting in a way that I deviated from the game’s scenario, or perhaps it was some weird game correction that came into play, that we ended up in danger many times.
I was supposed to be in an otome game world, but for some reason, I ended up being eyed by a homo and pervert one after the other.
When I think back to that time, I still feel like hiding my ass. I think it’s a miracle that we’re living a peaceful school life like this now.
The sole reason why I’m still able to work hard in this world, even though I’m going through this kind of trouble, is because of my fiancée, Angelica. She’s, in the game’s setting, the heroine’s rival and obstacle – the villainous daughter.
Indeed, she, who is strong-minded, holds the pride of an aristocrat and is beautiful on top of it, would be an unfavorable existence for the protagonist. In the game, what she said to the protagonist are things like, “think about how you should act towards a gentleman who has a fiancé” or “learn how to carry yourself like a noble.” Words laced with a bit of sarcasm, but all sound arguments in line with this world’s common sense.
Well, I certainly understand why the protagonist would come to hate a straight-laced beauty who says things like a bucket of cold water, during an event to raise the affection of the capture target. However, calling her a villainess is wrong.
You see, I had a good feeling about her from the time I was playing the game. And then, when I finally met her after I came to this world…
I was completely enraptured by her looks and personality, which perfectly aligned with my ideal type.
Yeah, something like love at first sight?
That’s why, I, who had completely fallen in love with Angelica, decided to live to my fullest in this world, and strive for a happy future with her.
Well, I think the game as I know it has ended with the heroine fixing the route.
All that’s left to do is to continue enjoying my relaxed school life until graduation…
I wonder what’s going to happen…
