Devil's Political Marriage - Chapter 69 Part 2
DPM Chapter 69 Part 2
Translated by Snowfall77
“Wu Yun!” Wang Ruoxu exclaimed, “If you have something to say, say it! If you’re not consenting, we won’t force you!”
Wang Qiang gave a displeased snort, turning his head to his Wang Ruoxu: “Brother, why are you saying such things to him? Look, it’s hopeless. We should just kill him and forget about it.”
Repeatedly waving his hand, Wang Ruoxu replied: “Stop, stop, such a pure yin body is too hard to find……Throughout the ages, there’d probably never be another chance like this.”
Wu Xingyun opened his mouth then, voice far more calm and cool-headed than the other two: “Please accept my requirements. I’ll leave this city now and I’ll persuade Ye Fan to never come back. Otherwise, the explosion within this city’s walls, you won’t be able to hide it from anyone. And if I die, someone will avenge my death. Either we part with no hard feelings, or we have an acrimonious blow-up.”
Having lived on the earth for nearly two years, Wu Xingyun felt his use of idioms had improved. Not that the Wang brothers knew or cared, as they resumed discussing between themselves. Wang Ruoxu insincerely opined that they let Wu Xingyun leave the city, and wait for a chance to grab him back. While Wang Qiang advocated for killing Wu Xingyun, then raping the dead body in hopes that some remaining yin could be absorbed.
Eventually, Wang Ruoxu prevailed. Deciding to seemingly agree to Wu Xingyun’s terms, Wang Ruoxu figured that afterwards they’d come up with some trick to capture Wu Xingyun and force him. Fucking a man was going far enough, Wang Ruoxu really didn’t want to make it worse.
Done talking to his brother, Wang Ruoxu said to Wu Xingyun: “Yun, I don’t desire you anymore, especially since you’re not willing. I care about your friend Ye Fan too, I don’t want to offend him by hurting you. Tell us what you want. We believe strongly in being democratic and liberal. So why don’t you come out and we’ll talk nicely?”
Wu Xingyun didn’t reply, and no one else dared speak.
Seeing that Wu Xingyun wasn’t necessarily opposing, Wang Qiang took a step forward, making Wu Xingyun suddenly shout: “Stop! Provide me a car, act as my hostage, and when I get out of town, I’ll let you go!”
“Young man,” Wang Ruoxu whined, “Yes, we have cars here, but you know there’s no gasoline.”
“Where’s your vehicle?”
“The gasoline ran out half a month ago. Otherwise I’d drive my car to go out, don’t you think?”
Satisfied that they wouldn’t be able to chase him with a vehicle, Wu Xingyun said something next that about paralyzed the Wang brothers: “Not bad. All of you withdraw five hundred meters away from me. I’m coming out and I’m going to leave on my own. If anyone comes within five hundred meters of me, I’ll kill myself.”
Not actually believing his threat of suicide would curtail anyone, Wu Xingyun merely said it to buy time to escape after blowing up the tunnel.
Wu Xingyun didn’t imagine how seriously Wang Ruoxu would take it.
The thought of Wu Xingyun committing suicide truly distressed Wang Ruoxu. Man or not, Wang Ruoxu wanted to know what such a yin-rich body would taste and feel like. Quickly beckoning the crowd back, Wang Ruoxu softly muttered to Wang Qiang: “When he come out, I’ll draw his attention, you find a way to get the explosives out of his hands. No, it’d be better if you just dart over and chop off his hand. That way……at least he’s still alive.”
When everyone had retreated the prescribed distance, Wang Ruoxu yelled loudly through a horn to Wu Xingyun: “Alright, we’ve withdrawn, come out!”
There was no detectable movement from Wu Xingyun. After waiting a few minutes, Wang Ruoxu still saw nothing.
Thinking something was amiss, Wang Ruoxu beckoned for two low-level mutants to go check.
In the dim light, the two weaker mutants paid no mind to the debris under their feet, slowly making their way to where Wu Xingyun was hiding.
Just as they were almost there, came the loud sound of a boom, an explosion unfurling.
Wang Qiang and Wang Ruoxu’s faces transformed, yet before they could react, with a roaring rumble, bigger explosions erupted. All the mines Wu Xingyun had buried beforehand blossomed in a terrifying display, flinging out in every direction. Mines firing off in succession, almost the whole area collapsed. From Wu Xingyun’s hiding place, huge ascendent clouds of smoke and fire joined the deafening detonations. Rubble flew in the air, dust rising.
Only when the dust had sunk back down, did the Wang brothers return to their senses—Wang Xingyun had chosen to die rather than submit? Or had he’d been attempting to escape?
“Dead?” Wang Ruoxu bemoaned. “Unfortunate!”
“Who expected him to choose death?” Wang Qiang answered, “How did that kind of man live till now?”
The two brothers led the search for Wu Xingyun’s body.
But there was nothing in the wreckage……
Finally, when they couldn’t find a dead body, Wang Qiang angrily reacted: “He ran away! Definitely ran away! We have to chase him quickly!”
The explosions going off, Wu Xingyun raced through the tunnels. As he’d planned, the tunnels he needed opened up. Since the sewer tunnels were numerous and jumbled, even if Wang Qiang did figure out Wu Xingyun’s plan, the mutant still wouldn’t be able to find Wu Xingyun very quickly.
Rapidly breaking through the circular ‘carpet’ manhunt for himself, Wu Xingyun ran through the passages. He still had some explosives with him, and used them to unblock exit points. Until he had only one explosive left and his channel forwards had been almost completely destroyed.
Forced to use his last explosive, Wu Xingyun blew the tunnel open, climbed up to the surface and continued his flight.
Some mutants who’d been guarding in the area let loose some arrows. Thankfully for Wu Xingyun, his military training of crossing light nets and targeting Mozun, had been considerably more severe than his present circumstances.
Dodging shoddily aimed arrows wasn’t too difficult. Though it seemed like something pricked him, Wu Xingyun didn’t feel hurt.
Speed unhindered, Wu Xingyun raced through the streets of destroyed buildings, using his memory to navigate. Soon enough he reached Xi’an’s city wall.
At the city wall gate, more than a dozen mutant guards were stationed, under orders by the Wang brothers to intercept Wu Xingyun.
Wu Xingyun nimbly took out a knife from his waistband, ready to fight. However, the mutants abruptly turned aside, leaving the way open. When Wu Xingyun passed them, they whispered together: “Run!”
Recognizing the mutants, Wu Xingyun knew that they were ones whose family members had suffered under the Wang brothers, some even dying.
Wu Xingyun’s feet didn’t stop, he ran out of the city.
The same mutants who’d let Wu Xingyun go stopped those trying to catch up to him, one howling for all to hear: “How long are we going to work for the Wang brothers? They’re nothing but beasts……”
Before the mutant could finish, Wang Qiang slit his throat open.
Wang Qiang’s body moved very fast, almost without trace. The mutants didn’t even catch Wang Qiang’s shadow before he cut them apart.
Wang Qiang didn’t want their loyalty, any more than he needed their love and respect. The only thing he required was that he was powerful enough.
And reality proved him correct. These people, even if Wang Qiang bullied and humiliated them, couldn’t resist him. Even when they rebelled, hopelessly overestimating themselves, they were attempting the impossible.
Chasing after Wu Xingyun outside the city walls, Wang Qiang looked around everywhere, yet found no indicators.
Wang Qiang stared grimly into the distance. Then he caught sight of something in the imminent nightfall. Coming from the other side of the remote highway, a tall slender figure emerged from the darkness.
The man’s hair hung past his shoulders, casually pulled back with a string. He had one hand in his pants pocket, while the other hand held a decapitated head. And, clearly in a relaxed mood, he was whistling an aimless tune.
Ye Fan had returned.
